The main objective of this research is to track the discovery and disclosure of vulnerabilities using publicly available data. In addition, this research identifies the most prolific discoverers of vulnerabilities, identifies the key applications/operating systems targeted for discovery of vulnerabilities, compares various vendor approaches to the discovery of vulnerabilities, and quantifies various perceptions and trends in the security industry.
