This IDC study presents the results of IDC's 2003 U.S. WAN Manager Survey. It is based on interviews with 400 network managers from medium and large business in the United States. It examines:

IP connectivity
IP VPNs
Managed network services
Service provider selection
Corporate telecommunications budgets
Melanie Posey, research director for IDC's Web Hosting Services program, says, "There is considerable scope to expand penetration of managed network services among large and medium-sized enterprises in the United States, but service providers must demonstrate the benefits more aggressively via additional education efforts."
