This IDC study examines the Western European market for data warehousing tools. The study provides detailed historical Western European revenues and market shares of data warehousing tools vendors from 2004 to 2005. These revenues are further shown in six geographical regions within Western Europe for 2005 for the top vendors. Market revenue forecasts for the data warehousing tools market are provided for a five-year period from 2006?2010 in each of the 16 Western European countries.

"The Western European data warehousing tools market grew to ?2,629 million in 2005. This represents a growth rate of 12.6% over 2004, which is slightly higher than the worldwide growth rate of 12.3%," said Alys Woodward, program manager, BI and Analytics, Western Europe.

"IDC anticipates a stronger focus on preconfigured data warehouse reference models, and data warehousing appliances, as both these solutions are focused on speeding up data warehouse implementations. This will particularly hold in the mid-market as BI vendors turn towards this area," said Woodward.
