Growth in the Western European MFP market will continue over the forecast period. However, double-digit growth rates across all technologies will not continue as the installed base increases and the market in some areas begins to mature. The MFP continues to penetrate the traditional printing market and in some areas, the success of the MFP has already overtaken the traditional office printer and office copier.
"The very nature and benefits of the MFP device mean that MFP units will not necessarily replace like-for-like printers and copiers in the office environment," said Phil Sargeant, senior research analyst, European Peripherals. "So vendors and the channel will need to look to additional areas such as service provision, print management, and after-sales supplies for incremental revenues and profits."
