This IDC study contains IDC's actual 2002 and 2003 router results and its 2004?2008 forecast estimates for Western Europe revenue, port shipments, average sales price (ASP), and installed base.
Forecasts are provided for five categories: high end, midrange, low end, small office/home office (SOHO), and small SOHO. A geographical split is included for Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
"The router market in Western Europe is increasingly mature and commoditized. As a result, IDC expects Western Europe router revenue to decline at a CAGR of 0.5%, from $2.8 billion in 2003 to $2.7 billion in 2008. Router shipments are expected to increase from 3.7 million in 2003 to 8.0 million units in 2008, for a CAGR of 16.3%," comments Peter Hulleman, senior research analyst, European Telecommunications and Networking team.
