This IDC study contains IDC's actual 2003 router results and IDC's 2004?2008 forecast estimates for Western Europe revenue, port shipments, average sales value (ASV), and installed base.
Forecasts are provided for five categories: high end, midrange, low end, small office/home office (SOHO), and small SOHO. A geographical split is included for Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
"IDC has increased its Western European router revenue forecast for 2004. The main reason for increasing the router revenue forecast is that the total number of European broadband connections in 2004 is expected to increase at a higher rate than originally expected because many service providers now bundle small SOHO and SOHO routers with consumer and business broadband subscriptions," comments Peter Hulleman, senior research analyst, IDC's European Telecommunications and Networking team.
