This IDC study examines the Western European router market in the first half of 2005, and compares and analyzes the major segments and broad trends within that marketplace to the second half of 2004. Included in the review are figures for Western European market size, and market share of the router vendors that operate in the market.

"In the first half of 2005 the Western European router market continued to benefit from the a rapid uptake of broadband subscriptions by consumers and businesses (especially small-to-medium enterprises) as many service providers bundle small SOHO and SOHO routers with their broadband services," said Peter Hulleman, research manager with IDC's European Telecommunications and Networking Group.
