This IDC study provides market forecasts as of April 2006 for the storage software market for the period from 2006 to 2010. Forecasts are provided for the total market by functional market and by Western European country.

"The Western European storage software market has seen slower growth from 2004 to 2005 than forecast, which has resulted in a downward adjustment of the storage software forecast," said Carla Arend, senior research analyst, European Storage Software. "Market growth is driven by business continuity and disaster recovery concerns of Western European organizations, as well as continuous efforts to develop sound data protection and efficient management strategies for increasing amounts of data."
