This IDC Forecast Update is an update to Worldwide Converged Mobile Device 2006-?2010 Forecast Update: July 2006 and includes data up until and including the third quarter of 2006 (July through September). The included forecasts have been updated based on observations derived from the third-quarter data.

4Q06 data will be finalized in March 2007 and reflected in a subsequent market analysis study.

It should be noted that converged mobile devices (aka smartphones) are a subset of the mobile phone universe and do not constitute a separate category.
