This IDC study provides vendor share data for 2005 and analysis for the data integration and access software market, including three segments: data movement software, data quality and profiling software, and data access software.
"The data integration and access software market is gradually morphing from a Balkanized collection of narrowly defined capabilities around such things as data warehouse building, database conversion or migration, customer address or product information list management, and data access drivers and adapters into a comprehensive range of related technologies serving enterprise information integration (EII) and information governance needs," says Carl Olofson, research vice president covering information management and data integration software. "Although there will be an ongoing demand for point products such as data access components and drivers and domain-focused data quality tools, the general trend in data integration is toward enterprisewide strategic integration."
