This IDC study presents an initial forecast of the data integration and access (DIA) software market, including the historical year 2007 and the five forecast years of 2008?2012. "Data integration and access software has grown more rapidly than expected, not because of unexpected factors, but because those factors have taken hold sooner than had been expected," says Carl Olofson, research vice president for Information Management and Data Integration Software research at IDC. "Although a variety of factors favor DIA growth, those that most directly affect the long-term growth of this market are those involved in strategic data integration initiatives in support of application integration, SOA, master data management, and information governance."
