"In 2005, worldwide TFT-LCD revenue grew by 32% on a year-over-year basis, reaching $58.47 billion. Growth was mainly driven by strong demand for end products and aggressive capacity expansion by Korean and Taiwanese suppliers. The two key Korean heavyweights remained strong, maintaining the top 2 positions in the overall TFT-LCD market and the large LCD market. Taiwanese panel makers together grew faster than the industry average, at 40% year over year, and accounted for 34% of the total revenue share.
