This IDC study examines the semiconductor vendors that offer chipsets going into 802.11 WLAN markets.
"In 2004, 802.11g accounted for the majority of the market, with a 70% share, 802.11b fell to 18%, and dual band grew to 11%. Vendors that bet early on the rise of 802.11g and dual band were clear beneficiaries of this market shift. The 802.11g market grew 88% year over year, from $325 million in 2003 to $612 million in 2004." ? Celeste Crystal, senior research analyst, Semiconductors
