This IDC study sizes, analyses, and forecasts the trends for the New Zealand networking equipment market for 2006-2010 to supplement IDC's quarterly LAN trackers. It considers key drivers and activities impacting the market and concludes with recommendations for networking vendors.
On the strength of the New Zealand economic upturn since 2003, the push for broadband service penetration in New Zealand and the pursuit of information and communication technology (ICT) productivity for enterprises in New Zealand, the network equipment market has had compelling growth across the last two years. "With fundamental changes in the economy anticipated, this demand momentum cannot continue. There is, however, a strong possibility that government intervention will open the New Zealand telecommunications environment onwards from 2006 to diverse investments and new demand from telecommunications providers across the board," says Christopher Loh, senior analyst, Telecommunications Research, IDC New Zealand.
