Description

This IDC study presents a market analysis and market sizing for the Australian business process outsourcing (BPO) market. The purpose of this study is to identify and quantify the market opportunity for BPO service providers (SPs) and to present some recommended strategies for taking advantage of the opportunities. "The main reason and driver behind embarking on BPO now remains invariably on cost reduction. This cost-cutting focus is intensifying during the current recession. In the past two years, some of the surveys conducted by IDC have shown that organisations have highlighted buying influences having an "enhanced business model" or "accessing state-of-the-art technology." However, the latest sentiment has revealed that most BPO will focus in great part on cost reduction only," says Aprajita Sharma, program manager, IT Services/BPO, IDC Australia.
