Description

| The global financial crisis affected economies around the world in 2008. Notebook PC cameras were among the few products which were able to achieve growth in this economic climate. Benefiting from the fact that notebook PC brands increased the share of built-in cameras in enterprise models and the strong sales of netbook PCs in the second half of the year, notebook PC camera shipment volume growth reached 142.5% in 2008. In 2009, however, notebook PC market growth momentum is expected to be weaker than in the past, and the low-price trend will become increasingly evident. As a result, notebook PC camera manufacturers will have to deal with pressure resulting from rapidly falling prices. The industry is thus expected to see increased concentration. Furthermore, the thin design trend among notebook PC products and the changes in interfaces will also impact future product design of notebook PC cameras.
