The Polish personal protective equipment (PPE) market has undergone significant changes following the country’s accession to the European Union (EU). New changes in the country’s health and safety laws requiring a wider cross-section of people to wear this equipment have greatly increased the market’s potential. Employers in Poland are now legally bound to provide workers with appropriate PPE to ensure their safety and minimise potential hazards. This is helping driving revenue growth in the Polish PPE market, which is fast catching up with its western counterparts. On the other hand, the rapid growth experienced in the market has made it vulnerable to competition from international participants such as major European companies and Asian manufacturers selling inexpensive products. "Thus, the importance of choosing the right distributor cannot be overstated," says the analyst. "Companies wishing to enter the Polish PPE market must give careful consideration to this issue since different distributors have various product specialities and target customers, and while some sell strictly low-end products, others sell only the top brands."
