Furthermore, for early product modeling, the necessary investment in DSP hardware is often a barrier to many application developers. Since with HMP no such investment is required, new entrants no longer require extensive telephony hardware expertise. Therefore, this barrier to market entry for new developers is lowered. Moreover, with increased migration to IP and most HMP technology introduced being IP-oriented, the HMP market assumes a positive outlook going into the future. Across the different regions, changes in regulations, demographics, technology requirements, and demand for various applications determine demand for enabling technologies.
