Published: February 2004
Product Code: R104-14662
Description
This IDC study analyzes the PC market development through 2008 on key hardware, desktop and notebook trends. On form factor basis, it forecasts units and revenue through 2008. Uncertain economic conditions continued to affect Malaysia PC sales both in the business and consumer markets in 2003. IDC expects 2004 to be another caution growth year in which growth (in unit terms) is expected to reach 6.5% (Y-O-Y), with 889,340 desktop and notebook PCs sold in Malaysia. "2004 will be another caution growth year for the PC industry in Malaysia. Commercial demand will remain highly dependent on economic conditions, such as the Malaysia investment outlook and global economic health. On the consumer side, the Malaysia market will remain positively affected by an increased maturity of the market, with notebook sales expected to continue to grow," said Andrew Wong, Senior Analyst, PC, Printer Peripheral and Government.
