This IDC study contains the findings of the 2003 U.S. WAN Manager Survey regarding Internet access or IP connectivity services. The study presents for each survey question the responses for all respondents, by number of employees in company, number of corporate sites, U.S.-only companies and those with multinational sites, time zone, and vertical market. The survey delves into the deployment of Internet access and the purposes for its deployment beyond access to the World Wide Web. "Internet access is increasingly mission critical, especially if used for intracorporate communications with an IP VPN. Internet access is nearly ubiquitous," says Steven Harris, research manager of IDC's ISP Markets research program.
