The countries included are Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Switzerland, Austria, Greece, Portugal, Ireland, and Spain. Market shares are calculated according to end-user revenue in calendar year 2003.

The study addresses the following issues:

How much did service providers spend on network equipment in 2003? Who were the main vendors of network equipment? Which types of network equipment generated the greatest demand within the service provider community? What were the main Western European countries in terms of service provider spending?
