IDC's Top 100 Worldwide Outsourcing Deals of 2003Product Type: Market Research ReportPublished by: IDC Published: December 2004 Product Code: R104-23533 Description Now in its eighth year, this iterative study provides IDC's analysis of the top 100 worldwide outsourcing deals for 2003. This document answers the following questions: Which outsourcer leads the market in winning the most deals by number? By dollar value? Which regions won the most deals? What industries are ranked among the top users of large outsourcing? Are megadeals still a significant component of outsourcing?"The world of deal making for large outsourcing contracts in 2003 continued on a strong path and resulted in just a couple of large players capturing the majority of contract value for the Top 100 outsourcing deals, but with a shift in geographic dominance from the United States to Europe," said David Tapper, director of IT Outsourcing, Utility, and Offshore Services research at IDC. "However, with increased focus by customers on controlling costs, need for accessing 'always on,' more flexible services; convergence of IT and business processes; and an increasingly saturated market in the large enterprise space, along with greater competition from key offshore players, success in this space will require many outsourcers to dramatically alter their business and service delivery models."
