IDC's 2005 Commercial PC Survey, Part 1Product Type: Market Research ReportPublished by: IDC Published: December 2005 Product Code: R104-24440 Description This IDC study discusses the results of IDC's 2005 Commercial PC Survey. The polling of more than 1,200 commercial IT decision makers found that spending on PCs will increase in select situations, but decisions will be based on conservative views of technology and how it can contribute to an organization's bottom line. "There is little in the market to suggest commercial IT buyers will drastically change their conservative buying patterns. This means that any new technology will be viewed skeptically until its return on investment can be satisfactorily justified. Examples from this survey's results include the slower-than-expected adoption of wireless networking capabilities, tablet PC form factors, and operating system upgrades. Historically, when technology upgrades are made, they are done gradually, and we don't see that behavior changing." ? Richard Shim, IDC senior PC research analyst Table of Contents
