Risk Mitigation in Global Sourcing

This IDC study looks at how even though an organisation may be ripe for outsourcing to a low cost location like India, there are some key factors that need to be considered before an offshore delivery model can be incorporated within the organisation's sourcing model.

"It is important to understand that offshore outsourcing is the best option for one requirement and probably the wrong option for other needs. Though the importance of governance cannot be stressed enough within all outsourcing cases, the complexity and criticality of the governance framework increases significantly within a global sourcing model," says Aprajita Sharma, senior analyst, Outsourcing and BPO, IDC Australia.
