The BPO services market (only key horizontal business functional segments: customer care, finance and accounting, human resources, training, and procurement) in 2005 was US$683.3 million, growing 25.7% over 2004. Although BPO continued to grow rapidly in China in 2005, the adoption rate was not as robust as what vendors had anticipated. IDC forecasts that the five key BPO segments in China will have significant growth in the next five years, with a 2005?2010 compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 32.6%," says Judy Ou, analyst, Software and Services Group, IDC China.
