There are three general reasons for adjusting these numbers: Research technicalities: Some numbers on some market segments were not finalized during the previous quarter, and/or some half year update have been included in 2nd quarter Black Book 2006. Changing market conditions: In the first nine months of 2006, market conditions have been changing in such a way that forecast adjustments are deemed necessary. Changing exchange rates: In IDC's West European Black Book we take into account the currency changes in the course of a year. Here all forecasts are based on the 2005 $/? average currency FX rate, which is ?0.80453 = $1.This update explains the reasons for the forecast changes that occurred in the 3Q06 IDC Black Book.
