Description

This study examines the Western European market for CRM applications. The Western European market is dissected in terms of the size and growth of individual country markets, and vendors are ranked by country and functional segment. In the Future Outlook, IDC analyzes the future of CRM for large enterprises, CRM for the SMB, CRM on-demand, and Microsoft Office integration.

"The CRM market for large enterprises has become a two-horse race between SAP and Oracle, after the acquisition of Siebel by Oracle, but the two giants should watch salesforce.com and Microsoft, which are increasingly landing larger deals," said Erik Bruin, research manager for European Enterprise Applications at IDC. "IDC expects the on-demand delivery model to really pick up speed in the upcoming years. The sustained momentum of salesforce.com indicates that this delivery model is increasingly considered as a serious delivery alternative, and competition is also increasing with the new on-demand offering from SAP and the announced Dynamics CRM Live offering from Microsoft. IDC also believes that besides industry-specific offerings and on-demand, integration with MS Office is the third important trend that CRM vendors must embrace."
