Description

This IDC study presents an overview of the top key consumer market predictions for Malaysia in 2007. Drawing from the latest IDC research and from brainstorming sessions involving IDC's Malaysia analysts, we take a high-level look at products and services that will impact the consumer IT market in Malaysia in 2007.

"IDC expects the consumer IT spending to surpass the US$1-billion mark in 2007, with a 10?12% growth from 2006. In 2006, the consumer IT spending grew significantly in light of the explosive spending on converged devices and the various driving forces that augmented the purchasing behaviors of consumers. Throughout the last 12 months, the purchasing power of consumers continued to rise as a result of the stable economy and the low unemployment rate that ultimately led to higher expectations regarding the standard of living," says Maggie Tan, senior research manager, IT Spending Research, IDC Malaysia.
