U.S. Triple-Play Connection 3Q06 Service Provider AnalysisProduct Type: Market Research ReportPublished by: IDC Published: January 2007 Product Code: R104-29248 Description
This IDC update analyzes the competitive positioning of the top 10 U.S. telecommunications service providers delivering basic revenue connections (BRCs). This quarter's triple-play voice, video, and broadband subscribers (measured in BRCs) was significantly impacted by the absorption of Adelphia's voice, video, and broadband subscriber base by Time Warner Cable and Comcast. In addition, Charter sold off almost 400,000 analog subscribers in systems the company described as nonstrategic, and Cox's 2Q06 numbers were impacted by sold systems, impairing quarter-on-quarter comparisons. As a result, it is most informative to focus on telco performance in this update.
