Worldwide PC Microprocessor 2006 Vendor Shares: By Channel to Customer

This IDC study examines the product shipments and market share of processor vendors in terms of the channel to the processor vendor's customer during the calendar year 2006. This document segments overall vendor unit shipments and shares by three sales channels: direct to the OEM, indirect channel (through distributors), and direct to the end user (self-builders). Splits by channel for desktop PC processors, mobile PC, and PC server processors are also included. Vendors of non-PC processors (i.e., RISC processors for Unix-based workstations and servers) are not covered in this study. Vendors of processors that are used in non-PC applications such as game consoles (Intel's Pentium III processors for Xbox) and thin clients (AMD's Geode processors) are not covered in this study.
