European Business User Buying Intentions 2007: Servers

Product Type: Market Research Report
Published by: IDC
Published: January 2008
Product Code: R104-32612
Description

In this IDC study, responses and results based on 1,000 interviews in six European countries are introduced and discussed. The study focuses on:

Operating system trends and use. Customer server hardware buying behavior and perceptions of server vendors. End-user perceptions of new technologies and trends.

"Anticipating customers' needs and requirements has become very important in a market more complex than ever before as a result of increased competition, innovations, and regulations," said Nathaniel Martinez, program manager with IDC EMEA Server Research. "Two highly perceptible trends are currently transforming the server infrastructure market. More specific products and solutions are required to address the 'long tail' of the server infrastructure server market, and as the use of virtualization and multicore technology continues to spread in datacenters, IT vendors should shift their value proposition from one centered around the acquisition of infrastructure technology to one centered around the use of computing resources."
