The results of the analysis of the Japan blade server market based on IDC Leadership Grid shows that there are huge differences in the ability to gain share among the top five vendors. "Vendors that have made blade servers their strategic products should implement strategies that accelerate the change to blade servers among corporate users that make use of the vendors' rack-optimized servers or non-rack-optimized servers, in order to protect their installation-based servers from other competitors. On top of that, IDC thinks it is necessary that vendors develop strategies that can increase the number of new users of blade servers," observes Satoshi Fukutomi, Research Manager, Servers, IDC Japan.
