Western Europe, Education Sector, 2006, Structure and Performance IndicatorsProduct Type: Market Research ReportPublished by: IDC Published: August 2006 Product Code: R104-36103 Description
The European education sector is very much dependent on public budgets. Over the last couple of years other areas have taken priority in battered public budgets and IDC expects this situation to continue in the short term. In this study, IDC describes the main characteristics of the Western European education sector. The main indicators include the number of organizations, the number of employees, and annual expenditure. Data and related descriptions are provided for education (NACE 80), with some detail for primary, secondary, and higher education institutions. The study includes indicators of education characteristics and activities for total Western Europe and for the five major countries - France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the U.K. "Vendors that approach the market must carefully watch future developments in education and training patterns, such as more harmonized education systems across Europe, to take advantage of the arising opportunities," said Massimiliano Claps, program manager, Public Sector, IDC European Vertical Markets.
