Description

This IDC study examines the mobile device management (MDM) enterprise market for the period from 2008 to 2013, with vendor revenue trends and market growth forecasts. Worldwide market sizing is provided for 2008, with trends shaping 2009. A five-year growth forecast for this market is shown for 2009-2013. An analysis of the vendors in the market, including vendor revenue and market shares of the leading vendors, is provided for 2008.

"Growth in the mobile device management enterprise market for 2008 remained marginal, but healthy, for what should be a high growth market, at 7% year-over-year growth and accounting for over $260.8 million, with growth slowing in 2009 and a rebound beginning in 2010 for a five-year growth rate of 9.2%," said Sean Ryan, research analyst with IDC's Mobile Enterprise Software program. "Market dynamics for enterprise mobility are driving toward increased complexity with a greater number of mobile OSs, and a greater variety of applications being deployed. This will set the stage for pent-up demand for MDM solutions to manage the increasingly complex mobile environments of large organizations."
