Worldwide SMB Converged Mobile Device 2009-2013 Forecast: Part 1 of 2 - Corporate-Liable Shipments

This IDC study provides market definitions, market sizing, a five-year forecast, and market analysis for corporate-liable CMDs being used in small and medium-sized businesses (businesses with fewer than 1,000 employees). The forecast is segmented by region: the United States, Western Europe, Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan), Japan, and the rest of the world (ROW). It also includes segmentation by company size: 0-99 employees, 100-499 employees, and 500-999 employees.

"While enterprises have a host of concerns about allowing employees to use individual-liable devices to access corporate information, small businesses are, in general, less concerned and more apt to leverage employee devices for productivity gains," says Timothy Doherty, associate research analyst, Small and Medium Business Markets: Mobility at IDC. "Still, affordable devices, continued strong adoption of mobile data applications, and a desire for greater control over company data will spur growth of corporate-liable CMD shipments to the SMB."
