IDC's 2009 Business PC Monitor Survey, Part 1Product Type: Market Research ReportPublished by: IDC Published: October 2009 Product Code: R104-40312 Description This IDC study is the result of IDC's 2009 Business PC Monitor Buyer Survey. Conducted online during June 2009, the survey polled carefully screened participants about their companies' current commercial PC use and future plans. Using a Web-hosting firm, we conducted the survey in seven countries: the United States, the United Kingdom, Brazil, China, Germany, India, and Japan, gathering a total of 1,682 respondents. This study covers the United States-only portion of the survey, which yielded 405 IT decision makers. It looks at both current and future PC monitor purchasing trends, including notebook attach rates, screen size preferences, and most preferred interface. The second part of this survey will look at these same areas of interests at the global level. "The business monitor market in the United States continues to be a treacherous place as companies large and small cut back on purchases and move an increasing number of their employees to notebook computers," said Tom Mainelli, senior research analyst with IDC's Clients and Displays Group. "Monitor vendors must keep a close eye on what business buyers want, and realize that the monitor they want to attach to a new desktop PC may not be the same monitor they want to attach to a new notebook PC."
