However, rising unemploymentmay dampen vendor hopes of a sharp upturn. Computers Computers accounted for around 44% of China consumer electronics spending in 2008. BMI forecasts Chinese domestic market computer hardware sales (including notebooks and accessories) of US$52bn in 2009, up from almost US$50bn in 2008. Computer hardware CAGR for 2009-2013 will be around11.5%. The government’s rural computer subsidy program will act as a significant driver, along with falling prices. AV AV devices accounted for around 20% of China consumer electronics spending in 2008. China’s domestic video, audio and gaming device market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 13% between 2009 and 2013, up to a value of US$44.9bn.
