BMI forecasts Brazil’scomputer hardware sales (includingnotebooks and accessories) of US$10.2bnin 2009, down slightly compared with2008. PC penetration is around 25% andthis could climb to 35% by 2013. Computer hardware CAGR for the 2009-2013 period is forecast at about 12.3%,driven by sales of notebooks andnetbooks, which currently account foraround 32% of sales. AV Devices AV devices accounted for around 24% ofBrazil’s consumer electronics spending in2008. Brazil’s domestic AV devicemarket is projected at around US$4.7bnthis year. Digital TV set sales will be themain driver of a projected 2009-2013CAGR of 6.9%, with other growthdrivers including digital cameras andportable media devices. Mobile Handsets Mobile handset sales accounted foraround 24% of Brazilian consumerelectronics spending in 2008. Brazil’smarket handset sales are expected togrow at a CAGR of 5.3% to US$5.3bn in2013, with mobile subscriber penetrationpassing 100% in 2011.
