Product Type: Market Research Report

Published: January 2003
Product Code: R313-5168
Description
Introduction: European Financial Advisers 2003 gives an overview of the market for financial advice in Europe, including the market shares that financial advisers hold, the regulatory framework for financial advice and market attitudes towards financial advisers. It includes the results of Datamonitor’s European Financial Adviser Survey covering distribution, products and services and channels, based on interviews with over 75 European financial advisers. Scope: * Financial advisers from single traders to large networks; * covering France, Italy, Germany, Spain, UK; * distribution of; life insurance, insurance-based investments, mutual funds, pensions, general insurance, health insurance. Report Highlights: While the market for independent financial advice in the UK and Germany is developed, in the rest of Europe the market is dominated by bancassurers and financial advice provision is at an early stage. There is likely to be a movement towards larger, pan-European financial advisers in the medium term, due to the success with which advice-driven financial services sales has weathered the stock market downturn. The products most commonly sold by European financial advisers are mutual funds, sold by 68% of advisers, followed by equities and life insurance. Surprisingly, 42% of financial advisers believe that they are well regarded by the public, compared to 15% that feel that they have a bad reputation. Reasons to Purchase: * For product providers to see how to distribute their products through financial advisers; * to help product providers adapt their distribution strategies to the different financial advice markets across Europe; * to assess how the financial advice channel is likely to develop. * for financial advice companies to assess new markets to enter.
