Product Type: Market Research Report
Published by: CRISIL Ltd.
Published: May 2007
Product Code: R3543-28Description Over the next 5 years, the Internet and broadband industry is expected to move in a different trajectory. CRISIL Research expects the Internet and broadband subscriber base to touch 29 million and 21.5 million, respectively by the end of March 2012. The aggressive rollout plans of state-owned BSNL and MTNL, and active government support, in the form of subsidy to provide broadband services in rural areas from the universal service obligation (USO) fund, is expected to spread coverage extensively. Private participation is also expected to increase over the next few years. The advent of wireless broadband technology such as Wi-MAX will help increase coverage at low costs compared with wireline network.Table of Contents - Sections
