For the third year in a row, RIS News has teamed with IHL Consulting Group to look into technology and spending trends related to store systems. This year’s survey results show that retailers have moved beyond the view of the traditional POS as a cash register to a POS which is a central element of the stores’ IT system, responsible for a wide variety of store functions ranging from employee training and time keeping to a key touch point of the central inventory system.

As in years past, this report will look into the purchase intentions and funding status of those purchase decisions for the coming year. Finally, we will take note of the vendor consolidation we are currently in the midst of and how this is likely to impact purchase decisions and the vendor selection process.
