The July 2004 Edition of Telsyte’s Australian Dark Fibre Industry Outlook and Pricing StudyProduct Type: Market Research ReportPublished by: Telsyte Published: July 2004 Product Code: R671-23 Description This report provides pricing information on the Dark Fibre rates paid by the carrier/service provider community, and to a much more limited extent some enterprise sector customers such as universities and research organizations that have requirements for very high capacity connectivity. We also provide commentary on this emerging market. The following metropolitan regions are individually tracked and reported on: Sydney; Melbourne; Brisbane; Adelaide; and Perth. Dark fibre prices for Newcastle and the Gold Coast are also tracked. However, due to relatively small sample sizes for these regions, these prices are included in Aggregate Metropolitan pricing figures, but not individually broken out. The Australian Dark Fibre report provides pricing information for CBD and metropolitan area zones for fibre connections spanning 0-5 Km, 6-10 Km, and 11-25 Km, as well aggregate pricing across all the Capital Cities and metropolitan areas covered in our database. Fibre pricing is expressed in both raw tariff and $/Km format for a single fibre pair. The prices measured in this benchmark document are market-based prices, all of which are currently valid.
