3Q 2003 Router Market AnalysisProduct Type: Market Research ReportPublished by: In-Stat Published: November 2003 Product Code: R97-1481 Description In-Stat/MDR has begun a new quarterly report entitled, "Broadband CPE Market Analysis," which includes DSL modems, cable modems, SOHO routers and residential gateways. The SOHO router segment has been deleted from this report. The "Service Provider Router Market Analysis" will now include branch office, enterprise, service provider edge and service provider core routers. Overall, the total router market increased 7% from 2Q 03 in unit shipments, due to an increase in branch office and enterprise router segments. Branch office routers comprised the bulk of shipments, roughly 83%. Juniper's revenue increased slightly from 2Q 03. The partnership with Lucent contributed to revenue again in 3Q 03, and Siemens and Ericsson were greater than 10% customers. (10% customers refer to those who contributed 10% or more to the company's revenue.) Juniper's new edge routers, M7i and the M10i, will compete with Cisco's 7200 and 7500 line of routers. The smaller platforms are more robust than Juniper's existing M5 and M10 series of routers.Table of Contents
