Insights Into Consumer and Employee PDA Use: Survey Results and Analysis

Product Type: Market Research Report
Published by: In-Stat
Published: December 2003
Product Code: R97-1488
Description
The majority of questions in this report are from an In-Stat/MDR Technology Adoption Panel (TAP) survey on PDAs. This panel represents a higher-end consumer and more early adopters than the general public. Other parts of the report use data and analysis from an Employee Mobility Survey.

The survey questions ask respondents about both personal and business use of their PDA. Many of the results were analyzed from the perspective of the total sample of current PDA owners as well as by the type of operating system the PDA owner currently uses (i.e. Palm OS users vs. PPC users).

This report concentrates on the following PDA topics:

• Those who currently own a PDA and those who are planning to purchase one
• Brand of PDA owned and brand loyalty for future devices
• Importance of the PDA as a business and personal tool
• Features and applications used for business and personal purposes
• How often and for what reasons users access the Internet with their PDA • How the expansion slot is used, and what accessories have users bought or are interested in purchasing
• What features users are interested in having integrated into their PDA
• What respondents would be willing to spend on their next PDA
