Product Type: Market Research Report

Product Code: R97-2601Description Televisions have been a signature consumer electronics device in the homes of many consumers in all parts of the world. Therefore, it is ironic that this device, one of the more personal purchases a person or family can make, is the focus of governmental regulations. Governments are deciding when analog terrestrial broadcast signals will be shutoff, and in the US and Taiwan, there are integrated tuner mandates that are being implemented. The manner in which these laws interplay over consumers and countries is reviewed.
Several multinational corporations are putting together integrated plans for marketing and manufacturing of flat panel TVs. The product lines of major OEMs (including new products in high definition) are covered. The types of feature sets that will be included on DTVs such as connectivity options, interactive programming guides, and wireless options are noted. Silicon IC providers to digital TV manufacturers are profiled.
The DTV set report provides unit shipments through 2010, ASP, and revenue forecasts for LCD, plasma, rear projection, and integrated TVs by region. Bill of Materials for ATSC and DVB-T tuners are provided, as well as for a 32-inch LCD TV. The report also includes the results of our February 2006 US Technology Adoption Panel DTV set survey.Table of Contents
