Product Code: R97-2633Description Europe continues to lead the world in digital terrestrial television (DTT). This is due in large part to robust service packages and relatively aggressive analog to digital transition expectations. Additionally, there are some large countries whose digital platforms could begin shaping up in the near future, thus creating sizeable markets in their own right (China, Russia, and India).
North America is characterized by the analog cutoff schedule for February 17, 2009 in the US, whereas Latin America is currently an open market with regard to DTT standards; although, decisions are expected within the coming months that will start to add definition to this region.
In this report we discuss each regional market and its key constituent countries. Most of the forecasts have been derived based upon TV HH numbers, along with expectations for analog cutoffs. Additionally, other events and programs (i.e. educational and/or marketing related) are factored into the process. Data is also segmented by standard where possible and pragmatic.Table of Contents
