The professional services market consists of firms involved in legal advice and representation, accounting, engineering, computer services, consulting, and advertising, among other professional services.Respondents from professional services were more likely to indicate that their firm is at the cutting edge of innovation and they use IT as a competitive tool, compared to other respondents. Survey results also show that decision-makers in this vertical expect a satisfactory return on IT investments in a shorter time than those in other verticals. For professional services firms, the most important factors when purchasing WAN services are reducing operating costs and improving network security, similar to other firms. However, professional services firms' decision to implement WAN services is more likely to be influenced by a need to support Web conferencing and collaboration services and remote storage or data backup services. When selecting a wireless data service provider, professional services firms are particularly likely to find service quality important. Geographic coverage and service price also rank high.
