This is a truly significant milestone, since the worldwide subscriber penetration will be approaching 17%, with many industrialized nations in the mid to upper seventies at that time. This report and forecast does not include 3G handsets as separate line items, primarily because worldwide air-link issues are not settled at this time. However, the 3G percentage of the total can be obtained by multiplying the annual 3G subscriber forecast.
