Product Code: r97-300Description In-Stat expects WLAN usage to increase dramatically over the next five years, with more than 200K firms estimated to use these solutions in 1999. By 2003, In-Stat expects more than 3 million firms to connect users via a wireless connection. This dramatic growth will be the result of increased adoption of WLAN technology in the small business and SOHO markets as well as increased adoption of the technology in larger firms. Changing workgroup needs and the increasing mobility of employees, combined with continually falling prices is making WLAN solutions extremely attractive to larger companies. These firms are wrangling with how to keep remote workers connected while away and make connecting them easy when they do come into the main office to work. In smaller firms the portability of WLAN solutions and their promise for "plug-n-play" makes these solutions incredibly attractive to these buyer segments. Table of Contents
