In-Stat/MDR categorizes this market into four product segments. These segments are comprised of personal computing devices such as desktop and notebook computers, Tablet PCs and PDAs; mobile phones; set top boxes, including all types of PVRs, cable set top boxes, IP/DSL set top boxes and gaming consoles; and smart appliances, which include Internet-enabled white goods and portable appliances.
For each segment, market trends, top manufacturers, and recent product announcements are summarized. Both individual segments and cumulative worldwide unit shipments are forecasted for the period of 2003-2008.
